The Suleymaniye Mosque is one of the greatest architectural buildings on the world. It is beyond inspiration. Its architect is Sinan. Sinan worked on the Hagia Sophia before he starts to work on Suleymaniye Mosque. Sinan designed the Suleymaniye Complex for the Sultan Suleyman the Lawgiver.

The mosque, and its attendant structures, madrasa, arms—houses, infirmaries, caravansarais, a medical school, hamams, schools of Tradition, a hospital, cells and shops were begun in 1550 by the architect Sinan and completed in 1557.

This project was the hardest project I ever done with this class. I wish I had more time to work on it. Unfortunately I didn’t.

Taj Mahal is located in Agra, India. Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan build it in the memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It combines Islamic, Indian and Persian architectural designs. It started building around 1632 and completed around 1653. Thousands of craftman and artisans build this fine piece of architecture, but Ustad Ahmed Lahauri is said to be the principal designer. It is one of the seven wonders of the world.
I like Taj Mahal, and has been there several times. It always amazes and at the same time shokes me for the history behind its making. Not a lot of people know that Shahj Jahan was so impressed by his architects that he killed them, and he also ordered to cut hands of each worker. The reason behind doing that was his insecurity. He didn’t wanted anyone to make any such beautiful and amazing architecture again. It is Insane as it sounds, but can’t deny the fact that it one of the amazing architectures of all time.

The building I chose for my architecture project was the Stat Building. It is actually a complex of buildings on the MIT campus located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The building was designed by architect, Frank Gehry. Although the building has been criticized for being impractical for it’s inhabitants as well as being overpriced, I think the exterior is interesting and original.

This project took, by far, much longer than any of the other projects for this class. Every one of the windows had to be made individually because their complex shape and the different perspectives made them impossible to copy and paste. I probably could have continued to add more and more details to this project for days but, overall, I am happy with the final result.

The reason I chose the Empire State Building in New York, was it is inspiring to realize how enormous the height of such a building. How much courage it required of the men who built such a massive structure, when back in those days we didn't have the modern equipment as we do now. Imagine how it must have felt to work at such a height and not being afraid of falling. The impressive design and the architectural work, makes one wonder what their idea was to make it so tall. This building was the sight of many movies, such as King Kong, from the very first film and also the most recent remake of the movie. I have never been there, but can only imagine what it must have be like, looking out over New York, on the top floor, and seeing far into the distance. A building with so many windows, I would not want to replace a window at the top, nor would i want to wash them. Some facts on the Empire State building is that it is located on 350 Fifth Avenue, between 33rd and 34th street in New York City. The total height of the building is 1,454 feet. The architects were Shreve, Lamb and Harmon Associates. The building took 1 year and 45 days to build. The cost was $24,718,000. There are 102 floors, with 6,500 windows. It require about 3,400 workers to build it, and 57,000 tons of steel to construct the skeleton. To get to the top floor, there are 1,860 steps from the street level.

My final project I did The MIT building in Boston built by Frank Gehry. I really like this building because of the way Gehry designed it. The MIT was built in 2004 and is 720,000 gsf including an underground garage. The Design features MIT has are flexible research facilities, classrooms, large auditorium, social areas, fitness facilities, and childcare center.

I really enjoyed this project instead of doing just a plain build I did the MIT in Boston, which I think is designed so awesome. The angles the building has are terrific. At night when the building is lit up it looks like a piece of artwork.

The Metropolitan Opera was founded in 1883. The first Metropolitan Opera House was built on Broadway and 39th Street by a group of wealthy businessmen who wanted their own opera house. In the company’s early years, the management changed course several times, first performing everything in Italian (even Carmen and Lohengrin), then everything in German (even Aida and Faust), before finally settling into a policy of performing most works in their original language, with some notable exceptions
The Metropolitan Opera has always engaged many of the world’s most important artists. Christine Nilsson and Marcella Sembrich shared leading roles during the opening season. In the German seasons that followed, Lilli Lehmann dominated the Wagnerian repertory and anything else she chose to sing. In the 1890s, Nellie Melba and Emma Calvé shared the spotlight with the De Reszkes (Jean and Edouard), and two American sopranos, Emma Eames and Lillian Nordica. Enrico Caruso arrived in 1903, and by the time of his death had performed more times with the Met than with all the world’s other opera companies combined. American singers acquired even greater prominence with Geraldine Farrar and Rosa Ponselle becoming important members of the company. I chose Metropolitan Opera House because of the great architecture on the inside and out. I have taken tours of the Opera House many times but still have not seen a performance. That is still on my list of things.

House Attack was designed by Erwin Wurm in 2006. It's part of the Museum Moderner Kunst (MuMoK) in Vienna, Austria. I chose this because I thought it would be fun to do something unique and creative. I used the pen tool a lot and had trouble getting the right texture for the museum. So I put on a brick texture and used a gradient to get something similiar, drawing in some of the more defined lines.

I chose the Baltimore Aquarium for my architecture project, because I really liked the way the building was laid out. Some of it was rounded and some was pointy, there where many unique angles. I really liked the squares of different colors on the front of the building. When searching for a building to do for this project I had a couple of ideas, but I was looking through my pictures and happened to find this one. My mom took a picture of the aquarium when she was in Baltimore, Maryland for a business trip. I was able to do this project by using the pen tool to define lines and fill them in to form an object, which later formed my building.

For my line portrait, I choose to do Bon Jovi's song "I'll be there for you." I've always been a Bon Jovi fan and I love that song and I think it worked out good with the curlz font. For my shape portrait I used a bunch of shapes and letters. For my hair I used s's, my eyebrows I used v's. I think it came out alright. I liked doing this project and messing around with different fonts and shapes.

I didnt scale down the images because i liked the cut off look i was beginning to get The lyrics are from two anime and one Remix: The First song is the opening to the Gurren Lagaan Anime; Soraio Days. The first of these projects that I did was the shape project which I assumed to be the easiest. And it was. I used a lot of script fonts because of my curly hair and tried to replicate the picture as best I could. I chose this picture to start out with. Something easy so I can get a feel for the project and program. The second one I did was the value. I assumed it would be the hardest to complete and it was. Five hours of hard work and I feel I could still do more with it. But I'm done. It gave me hell, I tell ya. I chose The last one I did was the line portrait. The song I chose was "Beauty and the Breakdown" by the Scene Aesthetic. I felt it really went well with the picture I chose. My cousin, who is a photographer, used me as a model for one of her shoots that she needed to do for a school assignment. I chose this because of the black and white and the contrast between light and dark made it easier to do this assignment. Well, it did... but it was still a bitch to finish. The third picture I did was the line portrait. I was looking through my pictures, iPod on shuffle, trying to see which ones would fit the song I chose. The song "This is Halloween" from the Nightmare Before Christmas came on while I was looking through Halloween pictures and I said "THIS IS PERFECT!" I chose a simple Halloween picture of myself and used that the lyrics from a song from my favorite movie. This portrait wasn't hard, it was just very tedious. So... very... tedious.

I really liked this project. My favorite one was the shape. Shape was fun to see what letters I could type that would make up my features. The line project was my second favorite. I think both of those really look like me. My value project was by far the hardest. I did my sister Ashley and it was not the easiest one to do. By just taking the shadows and making shaped was hard. But over all I liked this project a lot.

This project did not turn out the way I thought it was going to. When the project was first assigned I thought the shape portrait would be the easiest, the line would be a little harder and I was going to hate the value. As it turned out, the shape portrait actually gave me the most problems. The line portrait went pretty much the way I expected it to. For the value portrait, I had trouble getting started, but once I figured out what I was doing, it was pretty easy and turned out to be my favorite of the three.

For the shape portrait, I chose a picture of me from last Christmas at my dad's. If I had known I was going to look like a mutant, I probably would have chosen a different picture. For the line portrait, I chose a picture of me on stage with my band. For the text, I chose the lyrics to the song "Sober" by Tool because that is the song I am playing in the picture. For the value, I chose a picture of me on my laptop with my dog looking over my shoulder. I used Steve Jobs' keynote speech from when he introduced the iPhone for this photo because it has my Macbook Pro in it and the introduction of the iPhone is when I officially became a Mac fan.

I couldnt really find a good photo to use, so i took a photo of me playing guitar in my band. I thought this was going to be extremely hard, but it was actually really fun and not that difficult. It was fun playing around with different letters trying to make the shape that was needed.

The BCAF is a relatively new group within the chamber of commerce and a growing one. This gave us the idea of using a rising sun and a falcon in flight. The contained emblem allows a multitude of uses from stationary watermarks, to an easy stamp configuration. A new day was the theme we were going with in the pair of configurations we had in mind. In both cases we agreed the Falcon was the quintessential symbol of Forks Township and any emblem not including it would not be able to speak to the area itself.

The only complaint is the inability to go three colors with this project forcing us to use black instead of being able to go with a nice red and a combination of black, red and yellow. Still in the end we agreed that this worked the best of the configurations we tried and we’re generally happy with the results

DESCRIPTION:
The student will create 3 Portraits using the Adobe Illustrator font tools. The first portrait will emulate line. The line can be expressive, descriptive, implied, or directional. You can use contour or gesture. The second portrait represents Shape and Form. Try using negative and positive space in this portrait. The last portrait is Value. Use pattern, emphasis, and space to help create the tones.
The rules are the student must use the text as text and not turn the text into outlines. The student can re-size the fonts to any size but must not stretch or deform the font in any way. You may rotate, change the spacing or change the direction of the text (horizontal/vertical).

Learning Outcomes:
• Learn how to properly using the font tools.
• Learn how to use type to form lines, shapes, and value.

This logo is well-designed because it is an easily-recognized symbol no matter what color scheme is used. I especially like this color scheme because it gives a bold, assertive vibe - yet having the eclipse in the background gives another feeling of "what's around the corner?" I also like eclipses, they are quite beautiful and nobody quite understands them - which adds to the "what's next with Apple?" feeling.

This is a logo for Corona Beer. I think this is a unique logo because it has a crown on it and screams "The King of Beer." It is a well known beer for its one-of-a-kind taste. I believe the letter are Old English font. This font makes and fits the logo because all other beer companies use regular styles, nothing unique or constructive. Also, the two dragons look like there looking up at the crown as if they are bawling to it. Overall, I think it was a well designed and thought out idea for this logo.

Nike is an interesting logo as it is an abstract version of a wing. Nike was originally a Greek goddess, the personification of Victory. She had wings as well. This is the logo for converse who is a shoe brand company. I've worn converse shoes for a while now and I love them, their shoes are the classic shoes to wear. I love the style of being classic and vintage. Their logo is basic and clean, the font is basic but a grunge or rock kind of look. The star in the circle is just clean and basic, not busy; and I like it. I love how they just used black and white in their logo, to keep it classic to show how long they've been around. The logo all together is my favorite since I started wearing their shoes.

I feel that truespa is a very well designed logo. My mom owns this business and when it was first started about a year ago I worked for a graphic designer and helped him design this logo. It is just a simple leaf with the name truespa under it. I have seen logos for other spas or skin care centers and they are so busy and do not get their point across. truespa's so logo is simple and clean.

I feel that the logo used for "My Sister's Closet" is very well designed and very effective. It works well with the blue shirt and rest in black. If the shirt were black it would still work well. You can tell that it is for a store because of the shoes and hat (and blue shirt). It is basically a play on words, how many of us used to go into our sister's closet (as girls, not boys) when we were younger and take shoes, and clothes and borrow them. So this is telling you it is similar, a boutique of unique items like you would find in your sister's (or friends) closet.

The Sleepy's logo is a great logo because the design of the man wearing red and white striped pajamas, with a nightcap of red, white and blue with stars at the top indicates that this mattress is probably the best in America. HOW MANY STARS? I give the movie 4.5 stars. I love Tim Burton to begin with and the original "Alice" is one of my fave movies so putting the two together was genius in my book.

What was your favorite character? I loved every character in this movie. They were all so well thought out...Cheshire Cat has been one of my faves from the original movie and he didn't disappoint in this movie. Alice was quite good and I thought T. Dee and T. Dum were hilarious. The Red Queen had some funny antics, but I would have to say my fave character would be Hatter. I pretty much love everything Johnny Depp does, but the role of Mad Hatter was so suitable for him, he played it perfectly.

Does 3-D make a difference? I first saw it in 2-D (because I took my girls and the price was too steep for all of us to see in 3-D), and it was good...but I have to say after seeing it in 3-D, it was much better.

Comments: The special effects that were in 3-D compared to seeing it in 2-D (like I did the first time) is quite different. Things appear much more life like, as if you could touch them, and feel like you were there. I caught myself moving my head from left to right when things were being thrown, and ducked once or twice I believe (forgetting it was a movie...which is the point of watching movies, to escape reality).

I would give the movie a 4 out 5 because I though it had really good graphics. Also I would give it a 4 of 5 because I think the storyline was pretty good. My favorite character would have to be Alice because she puts up a good fight in the end. Also because she didn’t end up marry the guy that everyone told her to. Yes I think seeing it in 3D makes a huge difference. I say that because it makes you feel like you actually there. Also because 3D movies usually have better graphics. Overall, I though the movie was pretty good. At first, I did not really want to see it because I had no interest in seeing the first one.

what was your favorite character?
My favorite character was the cat, I loved his dissapearing acts, the colors they used for his eyes and fur. I also really liked that he seemed like he could be evil but at the end played a big role in helping over though the queen.

Does 3D make a difference?

Yes I dont think the movie would have been as intriguing without the affect because the story line was a little dull, something about the story didnt keep my attention the entire time but the affect helped me stay focused.

I give the Alice and Wonderland movie about 3 stars. Maybe 4. It was interesting but I feel it was confusing at first but when it started to get good it ended.

My favorite character was the queen. She Made the movie fun and exciting.

3D did make the movie more interesting. I felt like I was actually in the movie at certain parts.

It was a good movie however I felt it could have had a better theme. I felt the whole her coming back was not explained well enough.

4. Reason why I thought that 3D made a huge difference is because it felt like you were in the movie; especially when the red guards were thrusting their spears towards Alice it looked like the spears were coming out of the screen.
